Amplify Black Voices Campaign

In June of 2020, Black Lives Matter supporters took to the streets to demand justice, following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police. In addition to community mobilization and protest, Cartie harnessed art as a tool for resistance, creating the "Amplify Black Voices” illustration. She launched a campaign on her Etsy shop to fundraise for Black-led initiatives, via art print and sticker sales.

Reproductive Justice Campaign

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, Cartie was inspired to create an illustration that captured the weight of the moment. The illustration features a bouquet of historically significant abortifacient herbs, wrapped in the relevant newspaper headlines of the time. Cartie decided to make prints and stickers of the illustration to generate funds for various reproductive rights organizations. The campaign reached people from nearly all 50 states and is still ongoing.

Last Prisoner Project Campaign

In 2022, Cartie carved an original, cannabis-themed linocut relief print and donated a portion of all sales to the “Last Prisoner Project”: a non-profit organization dedicated to justice and reprieve for individuals incarcerated for cannabis related offense.
